Ruth Fell Wander Community Art Wall

Ruth Fell Wander served on First Bank of Highland Park’s Board of Directors from 1987 until 2002. Her contributions wereRuth Fell Wander invaluable; she brought her endless energy, creativity and intelligence to the many committees that she participated on throughout her tenure.

In addition to her commitment to First Bank of Highland Park, Ruth also devoted her time and talents to several philanthropic communities and civic organizations including the City  of Highland Park’s Business and Economic Development Commission, the National Council of Jewish Women, and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago.

Additionally, she served as President of the League of Women Voters of Highland Park, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Foundation for Jewish Culture.

Ruth appreciated and loved the arts and her home was an expansive gallery of beautiful artwork. She also served as President of Highland Park Associates of The Art Institute of Chicago.

Ruth passed away on February 13, 2002. It is with great pride and respect that this Art Wall is dedicated to such an outstanding individual whose contributions to our bank and community will be felt for many generations to come.

Sherri Takiff Zirlin Community Art Wall

The Sherri Takiff Zirlin Community Art Wall was created in 2020 to showcase novice artwork from local schools and non-SHERRI TAKIFF ZIRLINprofit organizations, as well as giving visibility to the various resources and services offered throughout the community. 

Sherri served as Director for First Bank Chicago Corp from 2002-2018. Her contributions were invaluable as she brought her humor, creativity, and knowledge to the many committees she served on throughout her tenure with the bank. 

In addition to her steadfast commitment to the bank, Sherri was a devoted wife to Todd and their four children, Lily, Grant, Daisy, and Wyatt. She also shared her time and talents with several philanthropic organizations which included serving as a Board member for the Bernard Weinger JCC and she regularly volunteered at The Ark and Random Acts of Flowers.

Additionally, Sherri loved and appreciated the arts. Her home was an expansive gallery of eclectic artwork she created and collected during her travels and family vacations.

It is with great pride and respect that this Community Art Wall is dedicated to such an outstanding individual whose contributions to our bank and community will be felt for generations to come.
