Giving Back to the Community

Community Involvement

As a privately owned community bank, First Bank of Highland Park has been focused on the local community and meeting the needs of its neighbors for over 60 years. We have developed a bank-wide culture of caring by giving our time, talent and resources as well as financial education and charitable contributions.

Our directors, officers and staff share their financial expertise by serving on the boards and committees of local non-profit organizations. In 2017, through their efforts, we have provided over 2,500 hours of volunteer service.

Community Outreach

We have made a commitment to supporting non-profit organizations throughout Lake and Cook Counties. Due to our charitable contributions, event sponsorships, volunteer efforts and financial education we are building relationships with our community leaders. By working together, we help those in need and strengthen our community.

Financial Education

In 2011, First Bank of Highland Park developed and piloted the Junior Banking Ambassador program. The mission of the program is to educate children on fiscal responsibility through engaging and interactive activities in which students can provide peer to peer lessons taught with guidance from the First Bank of Highland Park staff. The curriculum used for this program, Money Smart for Young Adults, was developed by the FDIC.
